City Plug.

Ultra-compact charging station.

Applications

Widespread charging in urban environments and residential areas.

Value

Promoting sustainable mobility and enabling long-term charging even for those who do not have a home wallbox..

Technology

Ultra-compact electronic system for charging management.

Patented technology for real-time power delivery management.

Problem

The spread of electric mobility is crucial for decarbonization and improvement of air quality, especially in cities. However, the electrification of the urban car fleet faces two challenges: the scarcity of public areas and reserved parking spaces to install charging stations, and the lack of garages where users can recharge during long-term stops at their home wallboxes. Although 70 percent of recharging takes place privately, in fact, according to a study by Idealista, by 2025 only 38 percent of Italians have garages suitable for installing a wallbox.

Solution

City Plug revolutionizes urban electric mobility with a compact, smart and sustainable product. This innovative column integrates harmoniously into the urban context thanks to a design curated together with Giugiaro Architettura, with reduced dimensions similar to those of a bollard, making it suitable even for historic centers, without altering its aesthetics.

The columns do not require dedicated parking stalls and can be installed in existing parking lots without taking away space from traditional parking. The intelligent power management system effectively distributes power according to the number of connected vehicles, optimizing the use of the power grid.

With dimensions 50 percent smaller than traditional Quick columns, City Plug can also be integrated into public lighting poles.

The sustainable and modular design allows the integration of additional features such as parking, weather and traffic sensors, plug & charge and other capabilities, positioning City Plug as a key component for current and future smart cities.
