Optichrome .
Applications
Cytogenetic analysis laboratories.
Value
Enable cytogeneticists to work under standard and safe conditions.
Technology
Embedded Linux; Wireless remote control; PID controller; closed-circuit air venting.
- Chromosome analysis
- Fixative evaporation
Problem
The quality of sample preparations forchromosome analysis depends critically on the conditions of the environment in which the final evaporation of menthol acetate or ethyl acetate fixative takes place
Solution
Optichrome is an evaporation chamber with automatic temperature and humidity control, enabling cytogeneticists to work under standard conditions at all times.
The device reduces the problems of instability of critical parameters affecting sample preparation.
Technicians can set and control temperature and humidity, define ideal working conditions for a given protocol, and obtain excellent results that can be reproduced in any situation.
A 7" color touch screen allows technicians to select 9 programs and process 4 samples simultaneously with 4 independent timers. Optichrome is equipped with a data storage system and a remote control module to facilitate every operation.
Activated carbon filters absorb fumes derived from the evaporation of fixatives (acetic acid/methanol), preventing any possible air contamination and preserving the safety of workers.
Optichrome was created in collaboration with the Department of Biology of the State University of Milan , developed and marketed in collaboration with Euroclone Spa
