XCS Pipe Welding System.

Automatic welding system with high control and precision.

Applications

Pipeline construction of waterworks, oil pipelines, gas pipelines.

Value

XCS Welding System is an automatic pipe welding system that optimizes the making of joints, prolonging their service life and protecting them from internal corrosion.

Technology

Rugged electronics; brushless motor driver; automatic seam tracking; field bus.

Problem

The welding process is particularly critical in the construction of pipelines and pipelines to ensure tightness over time, absence of internal corrosion, micro-cracks and oxidation. Carrying out welding manually does not allow to ensure the quality and uniformity of the process by controlling all its parameters.

Solution

XCS is a high-precision, automatic system that ensures fast welding and consistent joint quality through a root-pass fusion process (with or without copper backing), Advanced Pulse for fill/cap, and FCAW for tie-ins and crosses.
It consists of a control box containing two generators, an electronic power supply, a dual Argon/CO2 gas mixer, and a built-in display to monitor and, if necessary, change parameters during welding.

Ergonomically designed, XCS Welding System is easy to handle and precisely position on the guide line. Seam Tracking technology allows the system to automatically center the welding head relative to the tacker.

S&H built all the electronics for the system, from the handling system to the human-machine interface.
