Problem

Many electrical and electronic equipment found in hazardous industrial environments have local digital interfaces (ex. USB) but cannot interact with cloud management systems. The high cost makes their replacement uneconomical.

Solution

EX Bridge is an embedded system for retrofitting electronic equipment with a USB and/or bluetooth connection that enables its connection to the Internet and control via the cloud.
The system is equipped with 2 USB 2.0 ports and supports blue-tooth, Wi-fi, and Ethernet connectivity; an application allows discovery, configuration, and diagnostics of the system locally via smartphone; several protocols allow communication with remote management systems (API Rest, mqtt, etc.). Pre-installed drivers allow plug-n-play connection of supported devices.
EX bridge is suitable for installations in EX environment zone 2 gas group IIB, temperature class T4 and Class 1 Division 2 Group C,D, T4. It has achieved certifications for installation in EU, UK, USA/CAN as well as IECEx certification.

S&H performed all product development, including the definition and ideation, hardware and software design, prototyping and production.
