Smartex Air.
Applications
Control of machinery and peripherals in potentially explosive environments (chemical plants, oil & gas, food industry)
Value
Ensuring maximum safety for those working in potentially explosive environments.
Reducing installation times and costs.
Technology
Patented technology for virtualizing physical ports. ATEX Zone 2 electronics. Windows Embedded.
Problem
Controlling equipment and machinery in potentially explosive environments requires mobile and transportable user interfaces such as tablets and smartphones, but at the same time, many peripherals require wired connections, limiting the portability of human-machine interface devices.
Solution
SmartEx Air® is an industrial smart tablet for explosive environments equipped with a dedicated magnetic stand (Smart Stand) with integrated wireless charging. Thanks to proprietary virtualization software, SmartEx Air® establishes a stable wireless connection with the Smart Stand, enabling easy data exchange with a wide range of USB, serial, and Ethernet devices and peripherals—all without tangled cables, ensuring maximum mobility.
The scratch-resistant 13-inch touchscreen offers an incredibly intuitive user experience.
Our patented Power Line Communication (PLC) technology provides reliable network connections to the Smart Stand directly through existing power lines, radically simplifying setup and reducing infrastructure costs.
SmartEx Air® can be supplied with pre-installed software that can be customized to specific industrial requirements.
Every SmartEx Air® unit undergoes rigorous stress testing during production. This ongoing commitment to quality ensures exceptional durability and reliable performance even in the most extreme conditions.
S&H carried out all product development, including definition and conception, hardware and software design, prototyping, and production.
